Our main mission at Deckpeck is to provide our members with the best possible experience when it comes to their stores. We've been talking to a lot of stores - those selling a lot and those a little - trying to see if there were marketing practices that were working better than others. Here's just a sampling: "Twitter", "Facebook", "Personal blog promotion", "Word of mouth", "Myspace", etc. We even had one user go as far as taking out Google Adwords. In our next phase, we plan on introducing an embeddable widget that will facilitate the interaction of new customers on various social medias with your Deckpeck store. We feel that this could be very beneficial and want to make sure we get it right, so check back here for some development updates of this undertaking.
Another no-brainer on our list is the ability to customize the colors schemes of Deckpeck stores. Obviously our current default colors don't match everyones desired look. I'm not sure how many CSS junkies are amongst us, but we've also tossed around the idea of allowing custom CSS so you can really deck out your stores (no pun intended.) This would certainly take some work, so if this is something that would interest you, please let us know as it will bump it up on our list.
Lastly, within the Admin dashboard, we're looking to introduce an affiliate program that will allow you the ability to have friends (or strangers) post a unique link and credit them back for every sale they send you. We haven't begun discussing the lositics of this such as commissions, but in theory we feel this could be a great way to create a viral loop for your store. We forsee a customizeable affiliate commission as determined by each store keeper as well as a slew of other option to give you more control. As always, the idea is to benefit you while staying in the background. From the beginning we've maintained the principle of keeping in the background and in effect, chose to do little, if any, branding of our names on user store pages. Pretty much the main reasons we feel that these options are so important in keeping with that ethos. You guys make great art and deserve as much control of your image and brand identity as you want (and as much as we can provide.)
